Prior to purchasing his insurance agency in Raleigh, NC he worked as an underwriter for a leading national insurance company and for a local independently owned Real Estate Brokerage in Raleigh. His experience working in his parent's insurance agency, working on the corporate carrier side and now running his own agency operation gives him the knowledge and expertise to provide solid risk analysis and to customize and recommend the best insurance options.

As an independent Trusted Choice® Agent, he reviews and selects the best premium and coverages from several top insurance carriers to meet each client's specific needs.

Expertise & Certifications

Mr. Grimes holds the advanced industry designation, Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC™). Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance is something he is passionate about due to having a disabled father he has seen first-hand the effects of a long-term care situation on the patient, the caregiver and family members.

Mr. Grimes and his wife are both native Eastern North Carolinians. As a North Carolina native he grew-up in Williamston and Washington, NC. They also own Grimes Realty Company and have one son.

When John is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family at the beach and the river or attending sporting events. Mr. Grimes has served on several community boards and committees and holds leadership positions in several civic organizations. He also enjoys attending history lectures and belongs to several patriotic organizations. They are active in the local community and their church.

Now transitioning into the agency under Grimes Insurance Group, Kristy brings her wealth of experience directly to clients. Her goal is to help individuals and businesses navigate an increasingly complex insurance environment with confidence and clarity. Kristy specializes in personal, commercial, life and financial insurance solutions, providing trusted guidance to help clients protect what matters most.

A resident of Clayton, NC, Kristy serves clients throughout Johnston and Wake Counties and the surrounding communities. She and her husband, Nate, have been married for 17 years and have 2 amazing daughters, Haley and Mia.
